Who we are
We’re a small but mighty team dedicated to bringing you some of the tastiest cheesecake and desserts in Columbus.
The Cheesecake girl was founded by Sam in college—she was baking a fat free cheesecake for culinary class and whipped up another (tastier!) one for her friends to enjoy. Since then it’s become so much more. From scrappy pop-ups and teaming up with other beloved Columbus institutions like the North Market and Ill Mannered Brewing to becoming a full-time job, hiring an incredible staff, opening five locations around Columbus.

What we believe
We believe the best things are decadent, delicious, and made by hand (okay, with a little help from our trusty stand mixer). We also believe in treating others with kindness and respect, and treating yourself with… well, treats!
OUR STORY

2014: Sam made the first cheesecake in Jacksonville, AL while in college (she was a pole vaulter!)

2015: Sam graduated Jacksonville state university & got a job in radio

2016: Our original logo! Sam started baking for fun and selling to a restaurant in Powell.

June 2016: We did our first pairing with Ill Mannered brewing—it sold out quickly & we started an Instagram.

December 2016: We started baking out of Sunny Street & updated our branding.



February 2017: Sam quit her job and started doing pop-ups and selling wholesale.


March 2017: Drawing kitchen plans on the floor & pitching for a space.

September 2017: Smidge & Pinch opened in Powell.

February 2018: the blue box is born!

March 2018: site visit and dreaming at Budd Dairy

April 2018: OCPs were born!

June 2018: Started popping up at Dublin Farmer's Markets

July 2018: Added a case at Sunny Street

March 2019: We broke ground at Center street.


April 2020: We opened center street.

January 2021: We started construction at our Dublin shop.

April 2021: Budd Dairy opened!

July 2021: Cheese Force One

September 2021: We opened our Dublin shop!

Jan 2022: Started shipping Nationwide.

May 2022: Our cheesecake shipped to all 50 states!

May 2023: We opened our New Albany location.

September 2023: Sam was inducted into her high school's Young Alumni Hall of Fame.

Dec 2023: Opened our fifth shop at Wexner Hospital.
